Medics and teachers are anxious each minute more about the psyche of modern younger generation. Medical researches witness that each day more teens fall into depression and are disposed to commit suicides. This deplorable situation may be explained by the feelings of solitude, incomprehension and neglect from the part of adults and peers. There exist, although, various subcultures similar to goth, punk and emo that have found followers the world over.
Youth subcultures often conflict with the opponents in the person of grown-ups and teachers who suppose them to reveal a noxious impact on the mind of young people. There are, however, teenage psychologists who assert that these youth formations help teenagers go through daily stresses and life extremities. As an affirmation of this opinion let us take emo culture. A lot of people think emo girls and boys to be hostile but in actuality these teenagers display much reverence to other people irrespective of their beliefs of color of skin. The most important issue is that emo young people are able to throw down the gauntlet to the norms of community in the terms of emo clothing and look. Very often citizens can be shocked by the style in which emo boys and girls dress: both girls and boys wear tight black pants with colored waist-belts, tiny shirts, gym shoes, varied straps and badges, dark coats and bags in the back. It is not the desire to discern from the rest of people or to prove something but just the method of self-expression. The indignation of some people can also be aroused by the look of emo boys and girls. Bright make up, piercing in diverse parts of body, haircut to the hind head colored black and having a long curl that hides part of the face and dyed rosy are the characteristic way of appearance for both emo guys and emo girl. Eyes are the reflector of the heart and feelings of emo people that is why they emphasize them with dark crayon and black eye shadows. Psychologists affirm that such an unusual style of looking and dressing assist young people express themselves unreservedly.
To add, it is not merely clothes and appearance that differ emo girls and boys from the other people but particularly their state of mind. One might easily differ emo girl from the rest teens on account of her extraordinary sensitivity and timidity. They're unfeigned and very emotional. The same might be said about emo boy who are able to own intense feelings of sensitivity to the rest of people and themselves. These feelings, however, are rather dissimilar items from what average citizens feel. All their feelings are rather pointed, for example, they can get dejected in case they don't find reciprocal feeling or approval of people who are around. Teenage psychologists state that average teens (who do not belong to any group or subculture) in similar conditions withdraw into themselves that can lead to frequent self-murder. Emo boys and girls aren't afraid to share their thoughts and troubles with each other, they do not conceal their true feelings inside. Well, is it awful if a teen searched out like-minded peers with whom he may spend his free time and share his thoughts? As the final point it is needful to mention that parents and teachers shouldn't prohibit their children to be apart of any subculture or youth formation and give them freedom for self-expression.
